【Pursue the same goals】

The programs we conduct focus on the Japanese students, aiming at giving them an optimal educational opportunity. We expect that international students pursue the same goals with Tomonokai and put effort in achieving it together.

The goals of our programs are that Japanese students:
1-     Get the courage to communicate using English
2-     Feel that “they have the power to do it”
3-     Have interest/curiosity towards the World 

【Understand the purpose of each program】

As we hold our programs with a specific demand from each school, it is essential that international students understand the purpose of each program and act accordingly.
In addition, flexibility is also required to adjust to any changing situation and interact smoothly as the program requires.

【Professionalism: respect the basic rules】

The professional behavior we look for in our international students include:
1-     Being on time for the meeting/re-meeting point
2-     Meeting deadlines for files submission and forms filling
3-     Not cancelling the program after having confirmed the participation
4-     Not exchanging any type of personal information with Japanese students
5-     Not using the mobile phones for personal use during the program

【Interaction with the students】

In our programs we provide an educational opportunity for the students in Japan to find the joy of using English with people from all over the World. To be exact, this is not an English school, and international students are not expected to teach. International students are “Senior buddies” who believe in the power each Japanese student “Junior buddies” has and help them realize their potential.

What we expect that international students:
1-     Give positive messages to the students
2-     Patiently build a relationship of trust with Japanese students so even those who do not feel that confident, can feel comfortable communicating in English.
3-     Lead the two-way communication for a certain period of time

【Communication approach】

As we have different groups of students in each program, it is desirable that international students can adjust their way of communication to each student

Elements in communication to consider are:
1-     English language: speed, pace, words choice, grammar complexity, length of the sentences
2-     Non-verbal communication: smile, tone of voice, body gestures
3-     Contents: topics that students are interested in, topics according to their comprehension

【Cooperation with others】

Our programs are created by many people from many different positions of many facilities more than expected.

To have it smoothly, it is necessary to cooperate with others in positive ways with respect.

If anyone does not follow the rules/ starts to act selfishly/ cannot respect others, it causes many problems for many related parties, so please make sure to follow the rules and communicate in positive/respectful ways with everyone.
